LANSDALE – For the 11th October in a row, NPSD issued its Annual Report to the community. Themed “This is North Penn,” the report highlights the accomplishments of students, staff and the district as a whole during the 2012-2013 school year.
“In these challenging times of education reform and uncertainty in government budgets, the community needs to know that North Penn’s reputation will not change.” said Dr. Curtis Dietrich, Superintendent, NPSD. “North Penn is known for outstanding academics and exceptional staff who have numerous achievements, both in and outside of the classroom. This will not change in these challenging times.”
The 2012-2013 NPSD Annual Report includes PSSA and other testing results, demographics, financial information, student and staff achievements, contact information, and more. It also features information regarding the School Performance Profile, the new state measure of accountability for public schools in the Commonwealth.
“The annual report is just one way the community can learn about our successes,” said Christine Liberaski, manager, School and Community Engagement. “From North Penn Television, working with the local media, our website, Twitter, Facebook, Community Conversations and the monthly North Penn E-Matters newsletter, there are many ways for our community to learn and stay involved with our district.”
Also, this year is an electronic format of the annual report. Through the years, the quality of NPSD’s annual report has been recognized across the state and nation. The report has garnered awards from the National School Public Relations Association, the Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association and the Pennsylvania School Board Association for its communication value.
The 2012-2013 “This is North Penn” is also receiving its fair share of positive reviews. Both staff members and community members have commented on its positive, celebratory tone. Dr. Dietrich believes the Annual Report is an excellent starting point for serious discussion about district initiatives like Response to Intervention and Instruction.
