As North Penn students walked in for the first day back to school, they were intrigued about the new changes to the cafeteria. The major difference in the cafeteria this year is the Knight’s Café, also known to many students as the “nacho line.” In the Knight’s Café they serve grab ‘n’ go type food such as soup, soft pretzels, cookies, and nachos. The Knight’s Café was introduced to help ease the lines at the cookie corner allowing students to get their snacks faster. However, with the new speed the Cookie Corner and Knight’s Café close earlier than last year towards the end of the lunch periods. An additional plus to the Knight’s Café is the ability to purchase a separate plate of tater tots or French fries à la carte on days where they are included on the regular menu.
Sushi Fridays have also arrived at North Penn High School. Every Friday, the cafeteria brings in sushi chefs to prepare the sushi fresh for the day’s lunch. So get out the chopsticks and wasabi, this is sure to be a crowd favorite.
One final change to the cafeteria is the checkout lines that scan your IDs to get lunch. These new scanners called OneSource will make checkout smoother and faster for students. So get your IDs and money ready and head down to the cafeteria and buy today.
