TOWAMENCIN – Like Cinderella and her fairy godmother before the royal ball, the junior class cabinet and its advisors worked tirelessly to host a perfectly magical night. The clocks struck seven on the eve of March 30th, and North Penn’s gymnasium transformed into a palace for students dressed like royalty to take part in their very own fairy-tale. The 2012 Junior Prom, “an enchanted evening,” was a royal success.
After a year’s worth of planning and preparations, over 550 students attended the event and enjoyed the fruits of student council’s labor. Class cabinet member Jenny Apple described the decorations that fashioned the enchanted setting.
“We had big light up columns lining the hallway and leading towards the gym. They changed colors, which everyone seemed to really enjoy. They took a lot of time to put together, but we feel it was certainly worth it. The gym also looked pretty neat with the balloon arch outside the doors, and the cool teal and ‘star-style’ lights on the ceiling,” she said.
Even after a tiring evening of excessive smiling for photo-happy moms, blasting music, and nonstop dancing, students were glowing with positivity with regards to the event’s success.
“It was an amazing night,” said an exuberant Mark Brennan. “Now I can’t wait ‘till next year. After tonight, senior prom is definitely something to look forward to.”
The combination of great music, fun decorations, and time spent with friends certainly made amends for the night’s gloomy weather. The 2012 junior prom was an enchanted evening that won’t soon be forgotten.
