About the Candidate:
Current Position: Governor of Texas
Background information: Rick Perry is a fifth generation Texan from the small town of Paint Creek, where his family owns a ranch. He went to Texas A&M and graduated with a degree in Agriculture after which he joined the Air Force. Perry was respectfully discharged 5 years later, after which he married his wife Anita, whom he had first met in elementary school. With his wife Anita he has two children: a son, Griffin, and a daughter, Sydney. His political career began in the Texas House of Representatives from where he climbed the political ladder to Texas Agriculture Minister, to Lieutenant Governor. When George W. Bush had to resign from his office of Texas Governor, Rick Perry took up his post. Since then he has been re-elected for three full terms.
Major campaign points: To energize Jobs and American Security, a Flat Income Tax, to Cap Federal Spending at 18% of GDP, and to establish a part time Citizen Congress
Why students should vote for your candidate: Perry has kept the largest state in American from suffering; instead it is one of the quickest growing economies in the US.
