Reviewing Season 5 of Riverdale
Riverdale is a CW network teen drama television series based on the characters of “Archie Comics,” which was founded in 1939. The show follows the lives of Archie, Jughead, Betty and Veronica, along with many of their other friends from the original comics.
Whether they’re solving the mystery of the Black Hood, the Farm, the Gargoyle King or the Preppies, Betty and Jughead are always involved in something.
Season 4 of Riverdale dealt with the mystery of the Auteur, who was making videotapes to disrupt the town over the last few months of the crew’s senior year. Unfortunately, the season ended unexpectedly last March due to the coronavirus pandemic, leaving some unfinished business. Luckily, the final episode worked out surprisingly well for a season finale.
What was supposed to be the last three episodes of season 4 ended up being the first three episodes of season 5. These episodes revolved around senior prom, graduation, and finally solving the mystery of the Auteur.
Now that the crew’s high school adventures at Riverdale High are over, we’ll be getting a time jump of seven years as we head into episode four, where we’ll find out what happened to Betty, Jughead, Archie and Veronica. According to an episode preview, we already know that Archie went to war, Jughead is a published writer, Veronica is married, and Betty works for the FBI.
Riverdale is my favorite television show. I enjoy the mysteries that the characters work to solve throughout the season as well as the drama that surrounds their relationships. Every episode leaves me wondering what is gonna happen next week. If you like teen dramas with a mix of mystery, this is the show for you. Do you think you have what it takes to solve the mysteries that are taking place in Riverdale?
Don’t forget to tune into the CW, Wednesday nights at 8:00 p.m. to watch new episodes of Riverdale or you can catch it the next day on the CW app. If you haven’t watched the show before, you can catch up on seasons 1-4 on Netflix.
