Just when you think the Kardashians can’t possibly get any more famous, they find a way to improve their brand. On December 21, Kim Kardashian announced the launch of her new Kimoji app. The app consists of provocative emojis of Kim and her highly sought after selfie pictures. She released the app in just enough time to capitalize on the holiday spending craze. The app cost $1.99. Despite the fee, fans seem intent on Keeping up With the Kardashians star, as the app sold so quickly it broke the app store.

Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kendall, and Kylie already have their own app that keeps their fans updated with every move of their “luxurious” or, one might say, unrealistic material lives. It is unbelievable that they could get any more self-obsessed. They act as if they are blessing the world by creating apps about themselves. The Kardashians make $10,000,000 per KUWTK season alone, so why are they charging their fans for apps about themselves? And why do fans rush to support them? They make money off of their fans worshipping them which can also be viewed as “robbing your fans.”

Not only is the new app narcissistic, but it also takes away the meaning of emojis. Emojis are a way for people to show emotion when communicating electronically. Now think about yourself using Kimojis of Kim Kardashian’s…buttocks…instead of an innocent smiley face emoji. The meaning is lost and just isn’t as sincere. Her baby cakes have nothing to do with how you feel at that moment. And let’s not forget that not one emoji of North or Saint West, her adorable, surely soon to be fully exploited children, appears anywhere on the app. Can you say self-absorbed?

So if you’re up for responding to your mother’s grocery list text, your Dad’s Get home now! text, or your besties What up, girl? text with a Kimoji… go ahead and download your app and further contribute to Kim’s madness. Oh, and make sure you have your credit card handy because Kimmy K don’t do freebies. Stick to the basics and go ahead and put that free laughing emoji under a funny post with dignity.
