ALLENTOWN – As soon as Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom opens in the summer, it is the place to be. Throughout the entire season, the park is bustling with people of all ages trying to start their summer out right, but as soon as the fall season rolls in, so do the spooks.
This fall marks the fifth Halloween Haunt at Dorney Park and it’s a good one. If you are looking for fright, thrills, and chills, Dorney Park in Lehigh Valley is definitely a place for you.
Though it may not be as frightening as, say, Pennhurst, the Haunt definitely provides a little scare that keeps you on your toes. Creepy pirates, tiki men, and other gorier actors make it almost impossible to make it to a ride without a scream. Your heart pounds and you look frantically for the next person to jump out in front of you.
Some of the horrifying creatures may stop you in your tracks and others might follow you around, but don’t worry, you are always safe on rides- as long as those don’t scare you. You can run away from the gory creatures to a safe zone in line to calm down and relax for a little while but watch out for monsters as you move from one ride to the next.
The park also features some haunted mazes including Gravewalkers, Cornstalkers, and the Psycho Circus to make your haunted experience even more bone chilling. Venturing through Gravewalkers, it is hard to tell plastic props from living people, so watch your step; you might be caught off guard.
Dorney Park’s Halloween Haunt is a fantastic place to visit on a cool October night. If you are looking for a little fright to celebrate the fall season, take a trip to Lehigh Valley and enjoy the thrills and spooks that Dorney Park possesses—literally.
