Knives being thrown at ninja like speeds, balls of fire scorching your dinner, a volcano stack of raw onion set on fire; that’s not what this Hibachi is. Hibachi is really where you put together a plate of what food you want: meat, vegetables, and seafood, and the chef cooks your food in front of you in a matter of minutes.
When you walk through the doors of the newly opened Hibachi grill and supreme buffet on 309 in Montgomeryville, however, the first thing you notice is the giant fountain that is displayed in its entrance that changes colors for different waterfalls. The second thing you notice, of course, is as they call it, the ‘supreme’ 280 item buffet. Row after row of every kind of food you could think of, from the traditional soups and salad to a complete meat section where you can cut off your own meat.
And as the waitress seats you, you won’t have a wait because there is practically unlimited seating. You will also notice a personal waitress assigned to your part of the restaurant so you will never have to worry about having too many dishes. For those looking for a job, Hibachi is hiring part time hostesses.
Hibachi includes many cultures of food including American, Chinese, and Japanese. Hibachi not only has a buffet with extreme variety but has a sushi buffet with sixteen different sushi varieties. For those who desire the entire cultural experience, or hate forks, chopsticks are available at the buffet.
The only thing lacking about this restaurant is that there are not many desserts. The ice cream is in Styrofoam containers, many flavors vanilla, chocolate, cotton candy, etc. And other than the Oreo pudding, insanely good, all the other desserts look like they were picked up at your local supermarket.
The meal totals out to $11.69 for Dinner, $7.49 for lunch: coupons are available in Clipper magazine. Everyone knows that a fortune cookie just completes the meal at any buffet. Mine reminded me that “slaying the dragon of delay is no sport for the short-winded’. All in all don’t delay coming back to Hibachi grill and buffet, because whatever variation of stuffed you are, you know it was worth the money.
