Having served as a Republican on North Penn School District’s School Board for just under 16 years, John Schilling has decided to pursue this position and run for re-election on the November 8 ballot. The following are Schilling’s responses to six interview questions asked of each incumbent Republican candidate and newcomer Democratic candidate who expressed a willingness to participate.
Q: Why do you believe it is important to serve on the School Board?
A: It’s a great way to serve and give back to the community.
Q: What are your goals for the upcoming term?
A: To be a good steward of taxpayer funds and to make sure the students have the resources to achieve academic excellence.
Q: How do you plan to get these goals accomplished?
A: By working together as a team to accomplish these goals and objectives.
Q: What experience qualifies you to hold this position?
A: I have served for almost 16 years on the North Penn school board and have been on various committees. I have had 3 children graduate from the district. I bring experience and understanding of working with people to get the job done.
Q: How would you encourage local citizens to vote in this election:
A: I would encourage the voters of our community to support the five incumbents, Schilling, Hill, Miniscalco, Hladik and Charnock who have a proven record of success on the North Penn School Board. I would encourage voters to get out and vote on November 8th.
Q: Is there any final statement regarding your candidacy you would like to make?
A: I know that this present school board works together tirelessly for the best interest of our children’s education.
It is our goal to continue to provide the best education at an affordable price.
